Updates to the forms of EAC approvals starting from 12.2022

The EEC Board Decision 198 dated December 20, 2022, which determines changes in the forms of EAC certificates and declarations of conformity, begins to roll-out.
 
The Decision comes into effect in stages, and, besides the minor legist amendments that are immediately effective, the schedule is vague:

  1. Starting from the date of entry into force of the Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, signed on March 31, 2022, but not earlier than the introduction of a new version of the process "Formation and maintenance of the Unified register of certificates and declarations of conformity” (date not announced):
  • execution of certificates and declarations on paper will become mandatory.

  1. Starting from the date of entry into force of the Decision of the EEC Board on amendments to the Procedure for the formation and maintenance of the Unified Register of certificates and declarations of conformity (established by Decision of the EEC Board No. 127 dated September 26, 2017, date of amendment not announced)
  • QR-codes linking to theonline Register will have to appear on the approvals.
  • Latin letters (incl.with diacritical marks) will be allowed for indication of product designation(type, brand, model, article, etc.) and shipping documentation in theapprovals.
  • Information on thevalidity of the certificate for mass-produced products manufactured from thedate of manufacture of the tested product samples, including the date ofmanufacture of these samples (when available) will be indicated in theapprovals.
  • Information on the representation contract between the foreign manufacturer and the local applicant will be indicated in the approvals.

 

The certificates and declarations of conformity issued prior to the implementation of Decision 198 will remain valid until the end of their specified validity period.
